What the published research says
GHK-Cu is the copper complex of the tripeptide glycyl-L-histidyl-L-lysine, first isolated from human plasma by Loren Pickart in 1973. Plasma levels decline with age, which is the observation that started the research programme.
Published work includes in vitro studies on fibroblast collagen and glycosaminoglycan synthesis, gene expression profiling (Pickart and colleagues reported that GHK modulates the expression of several thousand genes in the Broad Institute's Connectivity Map data), and animal wound healing models. Small human studies of topical GHK-Cu in cosmetic formulations have reported changes in skin density and wrinkle measures; these are cosmetic studies of topical creams, not of the injectable research material.
There is no published human trial of GHK-Cu as an injected research compound. The literature is strongest for skin and matrix biology in vitro and in animals.
