About Tesamorelin

About Tesamorelin

Tesamorelin, developed under the code TH9507, is a synthetic analogue of human growth hormone releasing hormone (GHRH 1-44) stabilised with a trans-3-hexenoyl group, and it is the most clinically studied GHRH analogue in the published literature. This vial contains 10mg of lyophilised tesamorelin from Origin Peptides, batch numbered and independently tested. Supplied for laboratory research only and not for human consumption.

What the research says about tesamorelin

Native GHRH is cleared within minutes because enzymes in the blood cut it at its second amino acid. Tesamorelin was designed by Theratechnologies in Canada to resist that cleavage: the full 44 amino acid sequence is kept intact and a hexenoyl group is attached to the first residue. Like the native hormone it binds the GHRH receptor on the pituitary and increases the pulsatile release of the body's own growth hormone, with a downstream rise in IGF-1, rather than supplying growth hormone directly.

Unlike most compounds in this category it went through full clinical development. The phase III trial reported by Falutz and colleagues in the New England Journal of Medicine in 2007 randomised 412 people with HIV associated abdominal fat accumulation to tesamorelin or placebo for 26 weeks, and reported a reduction in visceral adipose tissue measured by CT scan. A second phase III trial confirmed the finding, and the US FDA approved tesamorelin in 2010 for that single indication. Later work by Stanley and colleagues in JAMA in 2014 and in Lancet HIV in 2019 examined liver fat in the same population.

Two limits are usually left out of retail copy. The trials were run in one defined patient group under medical supervision, and the visceral fat changes largely reversed when treatment stopped. Tesamorelin also has no UK or EU licence: a European marketing application did not succeed. For research purposes it is valued as a well characterised, long acting reference compound for GHRH receptor signalling and growth hormone axis physiology.

Lab testing

Origin Peptides vials are filled to a stated milligram content, lyophilised and sealed, with the batch number printed on every vial. Every batch is independently tested for identity and purity before release, and its certificate of analysis is published on the Lab Testing page so the report can be matched to the number on your vial. If you need the batch report for research records, contact sales@sarmsstore.co.uk with your batch number.

Questions

Is tesamorelin legal in the UK in 2026? Tesamorelin is not a controlled substance under the Misuse of Drugs Act 1971, so buying and possessing it as a research chemical is lawful in the United Kingdom in 2026. What is not lawful is selling or advertising it for human use, because the MHRA treats a product presented that way as an unlicensed medicine. That is why this listing, and every listing on this site, is worded for laboratory research and nothing else.

How does tesamorelin differ from sermorelin, CJC-1295 and ipamorelin? Ipamorelin is the odd one out: it is a ghrelin receptor agonist (a GHRP), so it reaches the pituitary by a different route, which is why it is often studied alongside a GHRH analogue rather than instead of one; see the Ipamorelin 5mg vial. The other three act on the GHRH receptor. Sermorelin is the first 29 amino acids of native GHRH with no stabilising change, so it is cleared very quickly. CJC-1295 without DAC, sold here in the CJC-1295 and Ipamorelin blend, is the same 29 amino acid fragment with four substitutions. Tesamorelin keeps the full 44 amino acid sequence and adds a hexenoyl group, and it is the only one of the three with completed phase III trials. The sermorelin research guide and CJC-1295 and Ipamorelin guide cover the others.

How should the vial be stored? The vial ships lyophilised and is stable in transit. Keep it sealed, refrigerated at 2 to 8C and away from light on arrival, or at -20C for longer storage. Laboratories reconstitute lyophilised peptides with a sterile diluent such as Origin Peptides bacteriostatic water; no reconstitution or usage guidance is given on this site.

How fast is delivery? UK orders placed before the daily cut off leave the same working day by tracked delivery and usually arrive within two to three working days, with a next day upgrade available at checkout. Packaging is plain, with no product or compound name on the outer label. Most international destinations are available, subject to the restricted list shown at checkout.

Is tesamorelin prohibited in sport? Yes, at all times. Growth hormone releasing hormone and its analogues, with tesamorelin named as an example, are listed under section S2 of the WADA Prohibited List.
