About DSIP

About DSIP

DSIP, short for delta sleep-inducing peptide, is a nine amino acid neuropeptide first isolated in 1977 and studied ever since for its relationship with slow wave sleep, stress hormone release and circadian rhythm. This is the 10mg vial, double the content of our 5mg DSIP vial, supplied as lyophilised powder by Origin Peptides, batch numbered and independently tested. Supplied for laboratory research only and not for human consumption.

What the research says about DSIP

DSIP was isolated by Schoenenberger and Monnier, who published its characterisation in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences in 1977. They took it from the cerebral venous blood of rabbits kept in induced sleep and named it after the delta wave pattern it produced on the EEG of recipient animals. Through the late 1970s and 1980s it was examined in rats, rabbits, cats and humans, which makes it one of the earliest neuropeptides with a sleep literature of its own.

The human work is small and dated. Schneider-Helmert and colleagues ran a series of studies in the 1980s in people with chronic insomnia and reported improvements in sleep efficiency in some participants, while other groups found little or no effect. Separate lines of research looked at DSIP and stress, including its relationship with corticotropin and luteinising hormone release, and at withdrawal states. None of these programmes progressed to large controlled trials.

The central problem is mechanism. Kovalzon and Strekalova summarised it in the Journal of Neurochemistry in 2006 as a still unresolved riddle: no dedicated receptor and no gene encoding the peptide have been identified, and it is unclear how a peptide of this size crosses into the brain. That is why DSIP remains a research compound with a long history rather than a well characterised one, and why its evidence should be read with that caveat.

Lab testing

Origin Peptides vials are filled to a stated milligram content, lyophilised and sealed, with the batch number printed on every vial. Every batch is independently tested for identity and purity before release, and its certificate of analysis is published on the Lab Testing page so the report can be matched to the number on your vial. If you need the batch report for research records, contact sales@sarmsstore.co.uk with your batch number.

Questions

Is DSIP legal in the UK in 2026? DSIP is not a controlled substance under the Misuse of Drugs Act 1971, so buying and possessing it as a research chemical is lawful in the United Kingdom in 2026. What is not lawful is selling or advertising it for human use, because the MHRA treats a product presented that way as an unlicensed medicine. That is why this listing, and every listing on this site, is worded for laboratory research and nothing else.

What is the difference between the 5mg and 10mg DSIP vials? The compound, purity standard and testing are identical; the 10mg vial simply contains twice the material. At £59.99 it works out at £6.00 per mg against £10.00 per mg for the DSIP 5mg vial, so it is the better value format for longer research programmes.

How does DSIP compare with Selank and Semax? All three sit in the Cognitive and Sleep series but come from different research traditions. DSIP is a naturally occurring sleep associated peptide; Selank is a synthetic analogue of the immune peptide tuftsin studied for anxiety related behaviour, and Semax is an ACTH 4-10 analogue studied for cognition. The DSIP research guide covers the literature in more depth.

How should the vial be stored? The vial ships lyophilised, which is stable in transit. On arrival keep it sealed, refrigerated at 2 to 8C and away from light, or at -20C for storage beyond a few months. Lyophilised peptides are reconstituted in the laboratory with a sterile diluent such as Origin Peptides bacteriostatic water; no reconstitution or usage guidance is given on this site.

How fast is delivery? Orders placed before the daily cut off are despatched the same working day by tracked delivery, usually arriving within two to three working days in the UK, with a next day upgrade at checkout. Parcels leave in plain outer packaging with no reference to the contents. International delivery is available to most countries, with restricted destinations listed at checkout.

Is DSIP prohibited in sport? DSIP is not named on the WADA Prohibited List. Substances without therapeutic approval can fall under section S0, non-approved substances, which applies at all times, so anyone subject to anti-doping rules should check with their governing body and treat it as prohibited.
